HughesNet® Billing and Installation

This page will briefly explain the billing and installtion process of your HughesNet® high speed Internet service. If you have additional questions, you may also check our FAQ page or contact us.

Overview

  • Ordering the service requires a credit or debit card.
  • This card will be used for automatic billing for recurring monthly charges.
  • A credit check on the card will be automatically performed at the time of order entry.
  • Once the service is activated, you may switch to a paper monthly invoice, there is a monthly charge of $5 for this service.
  • You may also use the automated payment system to pay by e-check.

Billing

  • Billing begins upon activation of the service.
  • Credit and debit cards are generally charged the same day.
  • You will be billed a month ahead for your service.
  • The first bill generally contains the following charges:
  • Installation
  • Equipment
  • Monthly service for the first month (advance billing).
  • Options if ordered, for example, Express Repair.
  • Taxes
  • Promotional discount if applicable.
  • Note: rebate refunds will not be credited automatically to your account. You must complete and submit the rebate form, and will then receive the rebate check in the mail.
  • You may view your invoices by going to www.myHughesNet.com and clicking on the Customer Care link on the right-hand side of the page.
  • First invoice is generated and posted online within one day of activation.
  • Second invoice is generated and posted online within one month after activation.

Installation

The Federal Communications Commission requires that trained professionals install any satellite system that both sends and receives signals.

Once you have placed your order, a HUGHES® professional, certified installer will call you (typically within three to five days), and make an appointment with you to install your system. The installer will mount the dish, run cables to the modem inside, connect the modem to one computer, and activate your account. When he finishes, you will be able to surf the Internet at speeds like never before!

If you wish to inquire about any custom work or work not included in the standard installation, you should discuss this with your installer when he calls to set-up your appointment. To learn more about the standard installation, please read the Installation Page.
